This Tuesday, August 30th, 2022, The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, also known as DACA, had a new law out into action. President Joe Biden introduced and codified a new order put into action for the first time. This new rule gives DACA recipients more protection. This final-rule was written in 450 pages and is effective starting October 31st. This new rule was created because of recent imminent dangers to the reality of the existence of DACA. While this rule is really great and a move in the right direction, since this does not go into effect until October 31st, there are still possibilities that DACA can be challenged and that is a terrifying thing for both DACA recipients and family of those recipients. If president Joe Biden is not re-elected in 2024, DACA risks being overturned and completely terminated. There are more than 600,000 DACA recipients with a history of 800,000 total that have been protected.
