Title 42 Expansion and a New Program is Introduced

There has been new news regarding Venezuelan immigrants. On October 12th, 2022, it was announced that Title 42, which authorizes the director of the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) to defer the entry of people to the U.S. to protect the public health of the United States, will be expanded. This Title was created in March of 2020 during the beginning of the pandemic when shutdowns were put into place. On October 12th, a new program was also announced that allows several immigrants from Venezuela to apply to come to the United States and their port of entry by plane with a cap of 24,000. These plans were made to keep people from Venezuela from entering the U.S. illegally and dangerously. This is causing a problem for many migrants who are already en route to the U.S. leaving them in suspension where they are. Another problem is that this plan tends to favor migrants who are wealthier since traveling by airplane can get very expensive. It is important for everyone to be up to date with the ever-changing laws and new plans that the United States is introducing every day, week, month, and year. Staying up to date and informed of these laws can deter confusion and help them make the right decisions for themselves and family. No matter what ethnicity you are or where you are from, helping others stay informed as well is not only important but it is the kind thing to do.
